This notifies you of the Annual Meeting of members of the Arlington Committee of 100, to be held virtually this year.

The Nominating Committee intends to nominate the following for election as officers and directors at the meeting: Hannah Dannenfelser as Chair; Gerry Laporte as Vice Chair; Lizzette Arias as Secretary; Tamon Honda as Treasurer: and Michael Anderson, Taylor Blunt, Jeanne Broyhill, Linc Cummings, Patrick Hope, Lynn Juhl, Wilma Jones, Scott Pedowitz, Daniel Sanchez, and John Vihstadt as non-officer directors.

Because Mr. Blunt, Ms. Jones, and Mr. Sanchez would be new directors if elected, a paragraph on each of their qualifications is included further below.

Taylor Blunt

Taylor has lived in Arlington since 2011 after joining the fire department. In the ten years since, he has been an active member of the community by participating in charity events and advocating for sensible affordable housing measures. Aside from being a firefighter/paramedic, Taylor enjoys roasting coffee, playing with his bernedoodle Rye and traveling with his wife Kristin.

Wilma Jones

Wilma is a top performing corporate information technology sales director during the day and is president of her own management consulting firm, Wilma J, LLC where she works with organizations to support development of a healthy and engaged staff. She is also a popular keynote speaker and workshop leader. Wilma is an author of three self-published books, a grant consultant, civic activist, and nonprofit board member. In her volunteer activity she works with organizations supporting underserved communities to impact positive change.

Wilma’s latest book, My Halls Hill Family: More Than a Neighborhood, is a historic memoir about the segregated Black neighborhood her family has called home for four generations. Her brother, Michael Jones, was one of four 12-year old Black students to integrate public schools in Virginia in 1959. The book tells the history of the neighborhood from its inception in 1866, until the County government, in a display of institutional racism common for the time, closed their neighborhood school in 1966.

Wilma’s latest project is a cable access television show on Arlington Independent Media (ArlingtonMedia.org) which she created, produces, and hosts, UNTOLD: Stories of Black Arlington. Learn more about Wilma at HallsHill.com

Daniel Sanchez

Daniel Sanchez M. graduated from Marymount University with a degree in I.T with a specialty in interactive media and now focuses on creating digital content for social media, helping local business and artists stand out in the competitive online world by offering services such as videography, photography, and web design allowing for a seamless and consistent experience between platforms. From his years at Washington Liberty High School and Marymount University where he took leadership roles in various clubs, his passion for being involved in the community has been present every day as he looks for new opportunities to get involved.
