Devanshi Patel, Chair
Devanshi is a business owner, litigator, adjunct law professor, and the CEO of the Center for Youth and Family Advocacy. Her work focuses on expanding access and opportunity for youth and families while advancing equity and community justice, with research centered on race, gender, and justice. In addition to her professional work, Devanshi has served on numerous boards and commissions, including the Partnership for Children, Youth and Families, the Joint Facilities Commission, Police Practices Group, and the Planning Commission. She also served as Vice Chair of the John M. Langston Civic Association. Devanshi has been widely recognized for her leadership, including honors such as Leadership Arlington’s 2015 “40 Under 40,” a 2017 Arlington Bar Foundation Pro Bono Award, Virginia Lawyers Weekly’s 2020 Influential Women of Law, the 2024 Women of Vision Award, and the 2024 Arlington NAACP Willard W. "Woody" Brittain Community Appreciation Award.
Tony Weaver, Vice Chair
Tony is managing partner at Olson Weaver LLC, an Arlington-based residential contracting company. Tony has worked at various Silicon Valley startups and founded EndoInSight, a medical device startup in Memphis, Tennessee. He currently serves on the Arlington County Fiscal Affairs Advisory Commission, is a past president of the Arlington Rotary Club, and was part of the Leadership Arlington Class of 2022. He holds a bachelor's degree in foreign affairs and a master’s in marketing and management, both from the University of Virginia. Tony is active in the Democratic Party.
Jay Miranda, Treasurer
Jay Miranda brings extensive experience in local and international nonprofit development, strategic planning, donor engagement, and project and campaign management. He is currently pursuing a Master’s in International Migration and Refugee Studies at Georgetown University’s Walsh School of Foreign Service. A dedicated philanthropist, Jay’s work is rooted in a deep commitment to uplifting underrepresented communities, advancing civic participation, and creating sustainable pathways to equity and opportunity.
Jeanne Broyhill, Secretary
Jeanne is a native Arlingtonian and a 2009 retiree from the worlds of public relations, lobbying, marketing, communications, and strategic planning, primarily in the housing and mortgage finance arenas. She was the chair for Advance Arlington this past program year and for 2023-24, spearheading the change to Advance Arlington after 70+ years as the Arlington Committee of 100. She is active with the Arlington Community Foundation and Culpepper Garden, and has served as board chair for both nonprofits. Jeanne is co-founder of the 16-year-old Northern Virginia Womenade, which has raised over $100,000 for 35 nonprofits in the Northern Virginia area.
Duke Banks
Duke is a Past President of the Arlington County Civic Federation and board member of the Waverly Hills Civic Association. Previously, Duke was involved with Arlington’s Park and Recreation Commission and the Open Data Advisory Group. Duke’s professional career was in municipal government and international development consulting. Duke has significant experience in creating channels for opposing viewpoints to be heard and understood.
Karen Bate
Karen founded and led KB Concepts PR for 17 years; she also co-founded Awesome Women Entrepreneurs (AWE), with more than 200 local women business owners as members throughout the DMV until it merged with the Arlington Chamber of Commerce in 2020. During her career, Karen was honored with two Chamber Best Business Awards and Arlington County’s Women of Vision Award in 2022. Now retired, she chairs Advance Arlington’s Marketing and Communications Committee, and also serves on the board of the National Kitten College.
Monique “Moe” Bryant
Moe is the Executive Director of Challenging Racism (CR), a 20-year-old Arlington-based nonprofit with a mission to empower and inspire people to disrupt racism one compassionate conversation at a time. CR offers professionally designed and facilitated programs that help individuals and organizations build the awareness and skills needed to talk courageously about race, equity, and the intersectionality of systemic inequities; whether based on race, sex, ableism, gender identity, or other forms of inequities. Moe also serves on the board of Interwoven Congregations and the Arlington Community Services Board.
Sandi Chesrown
Sandi is the President of the Waverly Hills Civic Association’s Executive Board and a member of the Arlington Artists Alliance Board. She is also co-chair of the CivFed’s Art+Culture Committee and a member of the Langston Boulevard Breakfast Group and Community Centers Committee. She was the Co-Founder of the Lee Highway/Langston Blvd. Alliance and Vice Chair of Plan Langston Boulevard to better re-vision and plan the Langston Boulevard corridor with local communities and Arlington Government. Sandi also brings experience working on Capitol Hill, design and urban planning and international project work.
Chris Concepcion
Chris brings a wide range of knowledge and skills in financial budgeting and report, data development and analysis and technology skills. Chris works at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau where among many accomplishments, he develops and implements automated document workflows, streamlining regulatory processes and reducing processing time by 30%. Chris previously served as State Director in Virginia for the League of United Latin American Citizens where he oversaw the statewide operations for Virginia.
Linc Cummings
Linc led the Committee of 100 as Chair in 2011-2012. He is a retired IBM executive who served on the Arlington County Planning and Economic Development Commissions and now serves on the County’s Commission on Aging and Community Emergency Response Team. Linc was a founder of and led Community Associations Institute (CAI) and its research foundation and think tank (serving condominium. cooperative, and homeowner associations worldwide, now celebrating its 50th anniversary). Linc also created and led the national consultancy Cummings & Associates.
Hannah Dannenfelser
Hannah served Advance Arlington as Chair from 2020-2022. She is a lifelong Arlingtonian and is the Grants & Resources Manager for the National Association of Realtors. She has previously worked in community relations with the Leadership Center for Excellence, Arlington Community Federal Credit Union, Arlington Chamber of Commerce, and as an independent consultant. She also sits on the Board of The Arc of Northern Virginia and is the Vice President of the Dominion Terrace Condo Association. She is an active volunteer in numerous organizations, including the Arlington Chamber of Commerce, Bridges to Independence, and Columbia Pike Partnership. She is currently enrolled in Georgetown University’s Executive Graduate Certificate in Change Leadership & Organizational Development. Hannah is a 2021 Northern Virginia 40 Under 40 honoree. She is an alum of the Ignite Young Professionals Program (2017) and Leadership Arlington (2022).
Krysta Jones
Krysta has committed her life to public service, developing leaders and changing lives. In 2006, Krysta founded Virginia Leadership Institute (now known as Vote Lead Impact) to increase the number of Black elected officials through training in a variety of skills. Among Krysta’s many local, state, regional and national organizations, she has lobbied for women’s and socio-economic issues, worked as an aide to the Arlington County Board Chair, and served as president of the National Women’s Political Caucus of Virginia. In 2023, Krysta received Arlington County’s Women of Vision award, one of many awards and recognitions she has received over the years.
Richard Lolich
Richard worked in both the private and public sectors of the international maritime and transportation logistics industry for over 22 years. During that time, he was responsible for developing the rules governing security at our nation’s ports and on the ships that call our ports. He has been head of his neighborhood civic association as well as a member of the working group established by Arlington County Manager to develop and recommend strategies to recognize and honor the history and legacy of the Hall’s Hill/High View Park Volunteer Fire Department and Fire Station No. 8.
Amanda Molina
Amanda is an attorney specializing in data privacy, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence at Microsoft Corporation. In addition to her full-time career, Amanda serves as a Captain for the Judge Advocate General in the United States Air Force Reserve Corps. Before joining Microsoft, Amanda served for over three years in the Office of the Legislative Counsel at the United States House of Representatives, where her portfolio covered a wide range of legal and policy topics.
John Musso
John is Government Affairs Manager for the Arlington Chamber of Commerce. He serves as a point person for businesses and non-profits for all policy and government matters, working with volunteer leadership to advocate on behalf of members and for policies promoting sustainable economic growth and business in Arlington. A resident of Arlington since 2018, he received his bachelor’s degree from George Washington University, and is an alum of the Leadership Center of Arlington’s Ignite Program.
Mohsin Syed
Mohsin served as a political appointee in the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) under the Biden-Harris Administration, including as Chief of Staff to the Secretary and Senate-confirmed Assistant Secretary for Governmental Affairs. He previously worked as a staffer on Capitol Hill, a career attorney at DOT, an attorney in private practice, and as an intelligence officer with the Defense Intelligence Agency. He is a graduate of the Sorensen Institute’s Political Leaders Program.
R. Douglas Taylor
R. Doug is a shareholder of the law firm Bean, Kinney & Korman in Arlington. For nearly 30 years, Doug has provided legal counsel and representation to businesses, business owners, associations, and nonprofits on a wide range of federal, state and local issues, primarily dealing with employment and labor law matters. He is a member of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of the Arlington Chamber of Commerce.
